It simply doesn’t get any better than right now. NFL football is in full swing, the World Series is going on, NBA basketball is just starting and the fish are going nuts. My absolute favorite month of the year. We go out and film as many DockSide TV episodes as we can this month as you can simply target anything you want. You can target big trout, sight fish reds, target bull reds under the birds, find the bass schooled up in the marsh or pop corks for school trout on the shorelines. It is just the best time to be an outdoorsman. Most people are most interested in big November trout aka “World Series Trout”. Well the bridges are the most notorious for those but that is certainly not the only place. So far this year the Seabrook area fished with a 3/8oz Golden Eye Screw Lock Jig Head on your favorite XShad has been best for the mule trout. I personally have found my self avoiding boat traffic and sticking to the eastern shoreline of Pontchartrain popping corks and throwing topwater for solid but not huge trout. The trestle has been decent but they have more boats than fish over there and Tuesday is the new Saturday. I like to target the trestle on bad weather days as it relieves the boat pressure. When I have been on the bridges I have been exclusively using the 4″ Mega Matrix as they trout have been very nice. I recommend trying to fish falling tides right now. The trout seem to bite better on it and also when its falling we have been seeing a lot of bird flocks diving on beautiful redfish. If you see a flock of bird the Mega Matrix is also the best item to use. This is by far the best month of the whole year so its time to use those sick days and get out there. Make sure to check out the new Matrix 3x Shad.
