Although this winter has been as mild as one I can ever remember this front may be the one to consolidate the red fish in the deep holes of the marsh. Typically easy red fishing starts around the end of November but this winter the temperatures haven’t seemed to get cold enough and the water levels have not been that low. This mild winter has provided a longer than normal speckled trout bite around the surrounding areas, but after the few freezing nights this week it may bundle the red fish up making them easy to catch. We typically like to fish deep man made canals that are surrounded by multiple duck pond systems that drain into the deep canal. The Purple Haze vortex and the Spartacus Vortex Shad are hard to beat for winter time reds. Check out the latest DockSide TV for more info on this style of fishing.
