Well May has come and gone and pretty summer weather has taken its place across Lake Pontchartrain. Calm wind and hot temps is what you will expect from here on out. Live shrimp have finally become available and anglers using them out of DockSide are doing well while using them. If you are wanting to fill the box with a mixed bag live shrimp is the key. While using live shrimp out of DockSide you want to focus on all 3 bridges and you will fill the box with a mixed bag of Lake fish. From Trout to Sheepshead and everything in-between. If you want to focus on the trout in the lake which has been running small use the “Lemon Head” and “Ultra Violet” Matrix along with the “Kamikaze” Vortex Shad. For those still wanting to fish plastics you are going to be greeted with a mostly a speckled trout and redfish only bite. The trout have been small the last few weeks along the trestle but every once in a while you bump into a 23 incher. Look for the bridges in the Eastern part of the Lake to hold multiple species along the bridge pilling all throughout June. As water temps get into the mid 80’s the fish will go deeper but until then stay on the bridges out of dockside and fill the box up with all the Lake’s species.
