With the horrible weather of late the DockSide crew couldn’t take it any more. We didn’t know exactly where we were going but a fish had to be caught it has been to long. We simply headed the boat east out of dockside and decided to slip into salt bayou and hide from the wind. We didn’t know what we would catch if anything. Trout, reds, flounder or bass who knew. Well after crossing some shallow ponds we came to an idle in a deep grassy bayou. After shooting 2 or 3 bass off the bank we decided to give it a look and bam! A bass haven. We started flipping 1-3 lb bass over the gunnel left and right. We spend all day back there catching more than 40 bass 3 trout and one lost redfish. Exciting action and a great time in the horrible weather. When off work or looking to fish and the weather looks dismal make sure to give good look at some protected bayous off lake pontchatrain. Irish Bayou, Bayou Lacombe, Bayou Liberty, Salt Bayou, and Eden Isles any of these places provide great wind shelter and good bass estuaries. Make sure to use the #3 golden eye spinner or a Ultra Violet Matrix Shad attached to the 5/16oz Black Platinum Jig Head at MatrixShad.com . Until Next time “Good Fishing”
