Catches of multiple 4 to 5 pound trout have been coming through everyday out of DockSide. Big numbers and catching limits have been a rarity but the size and quality of the well known “Lake Pontchartrain Pigs” are right on time. We have been using the “Midnight Mullet” Matrix Shad a lot and producing plenty of big fish. The most productive area has been the 174 marker on the incoming tide but the real monsters have been coming from the 176 area early in the morning and late in the evening. The pic below was a big one Kristi Caught at marker 176 sunday afternoon on the Midnight Mullet. We have been using the 3/8oz Golden Eye jig head when tides are hard and the 5/16oz when tides are light. Make sure to get the bait all the way down to the bottom and hold on when those big trout hit and make sure to have the net ready. Look for some real big fish come out this week with Aprils’ full moon being friday. April’s full moon is our favorite time of year to catch a 5 pounder on the bridges so don’t miss out. www.MatrixShad.com
