Wow what an incredible storm Slidell was just struck by. We pray here at Matrix Shad every one is ok and hope you can get back on the water soon. If so here is April’s report. April is one of the best months of the year so start using those sick days and get after it. I personally like to get off the bridges in April, avoid the crowds and focus on shoreline trout or other areas in the lake. This is the time of the year where you can catch trout on jerk baits, top water and more. We also do plenty of cork fishing this time of year for specks. Now don’t get me wrong the bridges excel this time of year but so does the boat pressure. I like to fish what ever shoreline is leeward in April. Also I like the hospital wall, the mouth of the Rigolets and the mouth of the Chef. Don’t forget about the rocks by Irish bayou and the old piers on the east side of the lake. And one of our absolute favorite things to do is run to the rigs in lake Borgne if it’s calm. Here at matrixshad.com we have something for everything.
