Happy new year to all from Dockside TV we hope 2019’ turn out to be an epic year. The weather so far this year is starting off pretty dismal. The pearl river is already sky high pumping fresh water in the lake which could hurt our spring run. On days it isn’t blowing a Gail or raining we have been getting out and making some solid catches. If you watch our latest dockside tv episode you will see we were killing the trout under a cork on the shorelines in lake Pontchartrain. This winter has been abnormally warm so some shallow water fishing has been the way to go a lot of days. On the colder days we are catching only a few but big trout trolling the canals. As we all know the MRGO and the wall is probably your best bet but look for the trestle and near by Lake shorelines to produce decent catches too as shown in the latest Dockside TV. Lake Catherine with the Matrix Mullet and Matrix Float too is a must fish on your cloudy and warmer days. On your post front blue bird sky days target deeper water and man made canals. Options are unlimited in the area. Louisiana winters can be tricky as some years they are very warm and others are ice cold. Depending on the pattern will tell us what to do. As most know we love crappie fishing but until the pearl drops you can forget fishing that flooded river but as soon as the trout fade off the crappie and matrix minis will be our main focus.
Until next time good fishing.
